Carnegie Hall celebrates its 125th anniversary by honoring the present and looking to the future with the launch of an unprecedented commissioning project. Between the 2015 and 2020 seasons, at least 125 new works will be commissioned from leading composers—both established and emerging—and premiered at Carnegie Hall. New solo, chamber, and orchestral music from John Adams, Magnus Lindberg, Aaron Jay Kernis, Glenn Kotche, Brad Mehldau, Olga Neuwirth, and others will be featured.
Lead support for the 125 Commissions Project is provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
Public support for the 125 Commissions Project is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.
Additional funding is provided by members of Carnegie Hall's Composer Club.
