The Annual Carnegie Hall Medal of Excellence honors an executive whose accomplishments in the corporate sector complement Carnegie Hall’s stature as one of the premier performance venues in the world.

2008 Medal of Excellence Honoree

On Monday, April 7, 2008, Carnegie Hall proudly presented Terry J. Lundgren, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Macy’s, Inc. with this award in the Gala’s third year. The event raised $4.2 million to support Carnegie Hall’s artistic and education initiatives.

The Third Annual Medal of Excellence black-tie Gala took place in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel. Highlights of the evening included the award presentation by The Honorable Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, and a special performance by the legendary Tony Bennett.
