Carnegie Hall Subscriptions - Boston Symphony Orchestra
Boston Symphony Orchestra

The New York Times calls James Levine “one of the most remarkable musicians of our time … The chemistry between the Boston Symphony and its new conductor could not be better.” Levine has reinvigorated this great American orchestra with enlivened performances of classic works from the repertoire such as Tchaikovsky’s “Pathétique” and Brahms’s Symphony No. 2. Simultaneously, Levine has renewed the BSO’s rich tradition of premiering music from important American composers, and this season he and the orchestra bring to New York new works from Leon Kirchner, Gunther Schuller, and Elliott Carter, whose music Levine has praised for its “tremendous vitality, individuality, and integrity.”
